Sustainable Development Goals Student Program (SDG Hub) This Hub is a space for students of any college, major, or interest to engage with sustainable development in relevant terms for them. The Sustainability Public Service Announcement (PSA) Project at the City College of New York is creating a campus messaging campaign around sustainability topics with digital content created by students to be shown on the public display screens throughout campus for Earth Week in April 2023. Sponsored by the CCNY Teaching and Learning Center, this interdisciplinary Project led by adjunct faculty Stephanie Rose and Pamela Stemberg brings together a cohort of ten instructors from the Teaching & Learning, Humanities, and Science departments to implement a common PSA assignment in their courses. Students are asked to create engaging digital PSAs for the campus community on sustainability issues highlighting sustainability organizations on campus, in Harlem, or throughout New York City, and their internship offerings. The Project may spark student interest in sustainability topics for future coursework, community engagement, and eventually become a focus brought into the many economic sectors that employ City College students.

The goal of the PSC-CCNY Environmental Justice Working Group is to bring together City College of New York students, faculty, and staff to engage with Union and CUNY leadership to envision and advance environmental justice initiatives on our campus and in our Harlem community.

Formed in December 2021, the PSC-CCNY EJ Working Group has convened several programs online featuring speakers from the campus and Harlem.  Our collective of students, faculty, and union is concerned with environmental advocacy. Themes include ensuring CCNY expands and develops environmental programming and initiatives on campus, whether new courses or curricula, campus sustainability initiatives, or new networking or professional development opportunities for students hoping to work and gain experience in climate advocacy.
